The purpose of the Director of Technical Arts is to provide direction and leadership for all technical and live production aspects of weekend worship services and special events held at Horizons Church. This position has the responsibility of overseeing all production teams, equipment and operations that involve lighting, audio, live video, online feed, and set design. The Director will need to be someone that has the ability to build and lead the volunteer weekend Production Team, establish and maintain serving schedules, recruit and train new volunteers, and evaluate performance of volunteer production team members. This position will also serve as the technical producer on weekends, must remain proficient on technical and production equipment, be able to maintain all technical equipment, and lead and be an active part of the creation of all stage designs.
The main responsibility of the Director of Technical Arts will be overseeing the weekly execution of engaging worship experiences. Secondly, they will oversee the video technology for the online campus of Horizons Church. And also have professional graphic design capabilities using Photoshop and InDesign for creating strategies for effective marketing and branding of Horizons Church.
The Director of Technical Arts will be a natural born leader with previous ministry experience in the areas of programming worship services, marketing, and creative arts.
ROLES AND EXPECTATIONS
Set up and execute the production of excellent weekend services and events.
Be present at the Sunday worship experience.
Meet with Creative Team weekly to prep weekend service.
Comfortable with critique and carrying out the internal vision of the Creative Team.
Create and program ProPresenter for weekend services and other events.
Create and set up all media for Sunday services including lyric formatting, message slides and video.
Oversee and maintain video system for live streaming.
Setup and prepare stage for the weekend.
Produce all weekend services and fill in gaps if needed in the moment.
Troubleshoot, maintain and care for all AVL equipment.
Help inform technology purchases and rentals.
Remains current on technologies, trends and styles used in production industries.
Mentors and develops production volunteers to execute weekend prep and execution.
Be an active and contributing member in the HC family.
